Course Summary:
2 D/T
Perhaps the most frustrating part of treating eye pain and discomfort is the inexplicable mismatch between patient symptoms and clinical signs. This deviation is partially responsible for varying clinical decision making, the lacking number of FDA approved medications for dry eye, and poor patient outcomes. Here we explore a different approach when treating ocular surface disease based on heightened attention to the role of corneal nerves.
Course Summary:
1 General
This course explores the concerning rise of burnout in healthcare, focusing on optometrists. We’ll review our recent publication, the largest U.S. study on optometrist burnout, examining prevalence, risk factors, and strategies for prevention and mitigation.

Course Summary:
2 D/T
Using a fast-paced, case presentation format, this course will cover some common and some not-so-common retinal pathologies. Emphasis will be placed on the clinical utility and interpretation of various imaging modalities including color and autofluorescence photography, OCT, and ultrasonography
Course Summary:
1 D/T
Optometric physicians often serve as the primary point of detection of geographic atrophy (GA) which is the defining lesion of atrophic AMD. Multimodal imaging is essential to detect, monitor, and quantify GA lesions. This course will explore early high-risk OCT biomarkers that predict or predispose to future GA development as well as OCT and fundus autofluorescence features that predict expansion. New complement inhibitor therapies will be introduced.

2 D/T
Utilizing a grand rounds presentation format, cases of trauma and ocular disease presenting to the emergency department, some of which required emergent treatment to prevent blindness and/or serious systemic consequences, will be discussed.
